Hello Fellow Explorers,
It feels so fitting that on International Self-Care Day, we held a LIVE Sparks! livestream focused on exactly that: a practice for creative self-care.
It's easy to feel busy in our creative lives, but how do we ensure we're building a practice that's truly sustainable? How do we manage our creative energy, rather than letting it manage us?
In this LIVE Sparks! livestream, we tackled that challenge by co-creating a solution: The Weekly Creative Check-in. It’s a simple, visual tool to help you pause, reflect, and set a gentle intention for the week ahead.
Below is the full replay of our design session, plus the downloadable templates for you to use immediately.
🎬 Director's Commentary: Key Moments
(00:03:27): I introduce this week's sub-theme: "Creative Sustainability: The Practices That Fuel Your Work."
(00:05:38): The livestream's mission is defined: to create a tool to manage our creative energy and prevent burnout.
(00:10:33): I decide to use sunflowers as the core visual metaphor for the tracker, as they represent growth and joy.
(00:24:58): We discuss the idea of creating different templates to "scaffold" the creative process for different needs, a key pedagogical strategy.
(01:09:42): I decide to use a "pin board" concept for the part of the tracker where we can "pin" things we want to declutter from our creative week.
